How to Play:
-
The goal of blackjack is to construct a hand of cards that beats the Dealer's without exceeding a value of 21. At
-
the start of a round, both the Player and Dealer are dealt two initial cards. The Player's cards are both face -up
-
while the Dealer’s second card is placed face-down, obscuring the total hand value from the Player.
-
A hand's value is determined by adding up all of its cards, using the following to determine their value:
-
Face cards (J,Q,K) count as 10
-
Aces count as 1 OR 11, whichever is more advantageous.
-
If a hand's value exceeds 21, that hand is referred to as a 'bust' and automatically loses.
-
If the two initial cards dealt equal 21, that hand is a 'Blackjack'. Blackjack pays 3:2.
-
Winning side bets are paid out according to different pay tables (see next slide).
-
The player can Double, Split, Hit and Stand on their hands to try and beat the Dealer’s hand.
-
A win pays 1:1. Insurance pays 2:1. Even Money pays 1:1.
